Saints PreservedTM is an on-going series of work by artist Patricia Banker. Each sculptural plaque (approximately 9" x 12" x 2”) is finely detailed in high relief, and represents the culmination of over a decade of research and refinement. While the designs are inspired by stories and lore, the images emerge entirely from the artist's imagination. Though the pieces have an "ancient" look and feel (including an aged patina and "imperfections"), they are completely original, not copies or adaptations of historical works. Each plaque is finished to order and may only be purchased directly from us.

The original piece is sculpted and carved in clay by the artist in Michigan. The plaques are then cast in a sand/stone compound. Finally a patina is applied by hand to bring out the details. No two are exactly alike and the finishes vary slightly in hue. Weather-safe, they can be mounted on walls indoors or out (a hanger is embedded in the back for this purpose).

A certificate of authenticity is signed, numbered and dated.
In addition, every plaque comes with an “illuminated manuscript” on parchment paper which describes the intriguing details (fact & fiction) of the saint's life, as well as offering relevant cultural and historical information. The pieces are packed in natural wood excelsior, scented herbs and dried flowers.

There are currently 11 pieces now available for purchase.
